Fair Frome Fundraising

Posted by Evan on October 14, 2015

Michaelmas (29th September) is a festival that is not so widely celebrated these days, but at Steiner Academy Frome we had two days of festivities, culminating in our Harvest Market to raise funds for Fair Frome.
We began with a school assembly, at which our invited guests from Frome and further afield could watch a performance of the children’s work. This was followed by afternoon tea and a tour of our new school. A talk was given by Christopher Clouder, the founder of the Alliance for Childhood.
On the second day, our year seven class devised a series of games for the younger children to participate in, based on the theme of courage. The whole school also worked hard in cooking, gardening and craft activities throughout the day.
We are grateful to all the parents who donated harvest produce from their gardens and allotments, and who baked bread and cakes or made delicious preserves. These were all sold on our Harvest Stall to raise the sum of £220 for Fair Frome.
We are all now seriously back in the classroom and hard at work!
