Science Teacher for GCSE
We are looking towards our GCSE offering starting in September 2018 and we have an opportunity for a Science Teacher to be part of that team delivering double science
The school opened in September 2012 - the first Steiner Free School in England and the second state-funded Steiner school in the UK. We are now in our fifth year as a school and our third year in Frome. We start our first cohort of Class 9 / year 10’s in September 2018 and will build to eventually have 104 students working towards GCSE’s in Classes 9 and 10.
Frome itself is situated in a very attractive and interesting pocket of the south-west, on the edge of the Mendips, just 12 miles south of Bath and 15 miles east from Wells and Glastonbury.
This year, we have 350 pupils on the school’s roll, from Nursery and Kindergarten to Class 8, and our classes are full.
We seek a science teacher to take in initially 3 lessons per week as well as the possibility of around another 36 double lessons per year in the form of Steiner Main lesson blocks. These will double the following year.
The successful applicant will be a highly competent and adaptable person, suitably qualified and ready to join a strong team of able, gifted and resilient colleagues.
The full time equivalent starting salary range is around £27,000 depending on experience, with access to the Teachers’ Pension Scheme.
Ring the Principal, Paul Georghiades, to have a talk about the post and arrange a visit on 01373 832804.
